A SHORT HISTORY OF THE ABOVE COMPANIES
- American Film Manufacturers: Formed in 1910 by four Midwestern businessmen, in Chicago, but soon moved to California. Their films were primarily westerns and many of their stars were formerly from the Essanay Studios. The logo, of an "A" with a wing to the top of each side led to its becoming known as "Flying A Pictures". The company was dissolved in 1921.
